Federer Out Of The French

Roger Federer has ended another streak. Until just pulling out of the French Open he had a record 65 consecutive grand slam appearances.

The reasoin for this was a back injury, something similar to what made his ranking and performance crash in 2014. This will greatly affect the French Open draw as he was always a consistent performer on the red surface, making multiple finals and winning in 2009.

I’m pretty worried about this though. He’s in his mid 30’s. The back injuries have become more frequent and older players recover more slowly. So when will he come back? I don’t know. I just hope he can go out on his time and not quit because of something like this.
