New Mumford & Sons Suggests Return to Form

From banjos, to all-electric, to African tribal music. Just what everyone thought would happen.

But the new African-style theme suggests a return to the traditional folk ways for the quad from England. Mumford & Sons partnered with several artists for their new EP titled Johannesburg. Check out the first single above.

However, more importantly, it leads to speculation for the group’s fourth album. The folk albums Sigh No More and Babel were incredibly received, while the electrically charged Wilder Mind did not bode nearly as well. There are no electric instruments used in the five-song EP. Perhaps a good sign for those who hopped the banjo never left in the first place (me).
