Stanley Cup 2nd round playoff preview

iqDmjwxO.jpg

It’s official, we’re onto the next round. All and all it was a pretty good first round, even though only two series went 7 games. Fucking Blues, let’s go baby. I was only 5/8 on my picks in the first round (https://gardenswebsite.wordpress.com/2016/04/11/stanley-cup-playoff-preview-1st-round/) so I just probably just stop hockying

Eastern Conference:

#1 Washington Capitals vs. #2 Pittsburgh Penguins

Ahh, the only Eastern Conference matchup that outside fans have actually been looking forward to. These are clearly the two best teams in the Eastern Conference and whoever wins this series will be moving onto defeat in the Stanley Cup finals.

Bit of a poopy pants at the end for the Caps. Not saying I’m concerned that they only scored 2 goals in 3 games against Michael Neuvirth but I’m concerned that they only scored 2 goals in 3 games against Michael Neurvirth. They seriously looked dead on offense those last few games and they’re lucky that Oshie is okay after taking a dirty hit from Brayden Schenn. The explosiveness we saw all year looked like it was gone in the last few games but Holtby saved them.

On the other end, Pittsburgh looked great against the Rangers, especially in the last 3 games of the series. After NYR tied it up at 1-1, I saw a lot of weaknesses tighten up for the Pens especially defensively. Crosby and Malkin are still really fucking good,  that’s confirmed. Letang and Daley are playing A1 on the back end and there looks to be no signs of trouble without Fleury. Matt Murray is looking prettay, prettay, pretttay good between the pipes.

Does bad boy Murray have it in him for another series?

#2 Tampa Bay Lightning vs. #4 New York Islanders

Both of these teams are feeling good and coming out of pretty similar series’. Both the Lightning and Isles had to grind out every win, except the Isles loved closing the games out it in OT. Took TB 5 games to close, took NYI 6.

For Tampa Bay, looked like it didn’t matter at all they were missing Stamkos which is a really good sign for them. Kucherov, Johnson and Killorn played as good as any trio in the first round and they’re showing that the Lightning still produce a lot of electricity. 😉 KIM that the Red Wings suck ass though so the series was pretty subjective. Still liked what I saw and Ben Bishop always seems to play his best this time of year.

There’s something really really special about this Islanders team. As everyone knows, this was the first time the Isles won a playoff series since 1993, that’s pretty damn exciting. Greiss has looked really good, even when his back has been against the wall. So many fucking times  in OT the Panthers were peppering him and he was a brick wall. John Tavares is an absolute stud as everyone knows. He has that ‘it’ factor about him, like Patty Kane has, where you know he can takeover for your team when you need him to. This guy is going to win a Cup in the near future. This is going to be a very tough series for the Isles.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Dallas Stars vs. #2 St. Louis Blues

Both of these teams are real dangerous, and I think the winner of this series is going to be your Stanley Cup champs, which if you don’t know I picked the Stars.

My Dallas pick is looking pretty sketchy right aboooot now because they looked like shit at the end of their series against Minnesota. Gave up 9 goals in the last two games, and nearly blew a 4 goal load in Game 6. Everything that scared me about Dallas came true last series. They go through patches where they give up lots of goals and can’t seem to find an answer when they need it. Having said that, they also played that series w/o Seguin- who nobody is really sure exactly when he’ll be back. He should be good by Game 1 assume. Talk about stars (nice) though, Jaime Benn is a god damn monster who posted 10 points in 6 games. Old Man Spezza played great too posting 9 points. If Spezza plays that same way next series w/ Seguin back- the Stars are A-OK.

St. Louis will be coming off a nice high in which they finally got the better of their rival Hawks. The Blues megastar in Tarasenko also affirmed to the world that he is one of the best playmakers in hockey right now. Him and the 20 year old Robby Fabbri came up big in situations where the Blues needed it and certainly look like they’ll be one of the more dynamic young duos to come. Defensively, the Blue boys are going to put a lot of pressure on the Stars stars and they’ll lean on nobody more than Alex Pietrangelo and Kevin Shattenkirk.

This will be a hard fought series but Dallas is going to get to that next-level goal scoring ability once Seguin is back in the lineup. Blues need to take advantage if Tyler sits out a game or two.

There is nothing better than when old school Spezza is playing like old school Spezza.

#3 San Jose Sharks vs. #4 Nashville Predators

What an interesting turn of events this Western conference semi turned into. From two of the largest western conference markets in Anaheim and Los Angeles to fucking San Jose and Nashville.

Now look, I said all along that my Sharks were legit and can make a deep run in this tournament. Even though for a large portion of the first round, I thought they were outplayed by LA, they still got it done in a quick 5 games. The play they get from their centers with Pavelski andCouture and  is as good as you’ll see and Brent Burns is showing that he’s one of the best defenseman in hockey.

On the flip side, Nashville’s Shea Weber also showed last series why he’s considered a top defenseman in the game, picking up a team tying 5 points in the series. The big question for the Preds is if they’ll be able to continue to close out these close games.

I think the Sharks win, and I think they win pretty quick in their quest to get Ole’ Joe a Cup

Re(Views) from The Gardens: Drake’s Newest Album

Every song from Drake’s 4th studio album, Views, broken down.

VIEWS (from the 6ix) is Drake’s 4th studio album. The title comes from the city that he is from, Toronto (416). According to producer and best friend Noah Shebib (40), they have been swapping time in California and his hometown to make the 20 track record. On Thursday April 28th, the album premiered on Beats 1 OVORadio. With enough songs for two albums, wheelchair Jimmy and a couple of friends have supplied the world with new music to last us fans all summer and provide new material for his newly announced, “Summer Sixteen Tour” with Future.  No need to bore you guys here is an overview of the songs. All the way down I will have possible places to get the album.

The tracklist is as follows:

1. Keep The Family Close: The whole project is about the development of Drake (no one else), according to his Beats interview. In this 5 minute, slow paced track, he distinguishes between his friends, family, enemies, etc. No matter what happens with his friends, and where they go, family will always be there.

2. 9: “And  I turned the 6 upside down, it’s a 9 now, I made a decision I would die for it.” Drake raps about his city & devotion to the city where he’s from. He loves his city, PERIOD.  When the beat drop at the beginning, it makes you take a step back. As he nears towards the second half of the song he switches up a melody/ singing flow. All around great song. Drake got his city’s number tatted on him for life. It’s either a 9 or 6 depending on the way you look at it.

3.U With Me?: Shout out DMX! Drake refers to his pool parties like Mardi Gras. And there is no question if you have seen his parties. Another slower jam just straight flowing over a Kanye & 40 produced beat. Again, Drake switches to singing and melodies. Theres a line where he says “three dots (…) you thinking of a reaction still”… We all been there when your girl or dude are playing games and trying to come up with excuses. (LOOK AT THIS PLACE THOUGH).

drake-pool-party-a.png

5.Hype: Hype speaks on all of his accomplishments. If you look back, it is no wonder why the 29 year old is so successful. He says, “Chasing women a distraction, they want to be on TV right next to me. You cannot be right next to me. Don’t you see Riri next to me?” He discusses how chasing after a girl he likes is a lot of work and a distraction to making music and living life, but I mean by the amount of songs about this girl, he doesn’t really care.

6. Weston Road Flows: This track is a throw back to where Drake grew up in Toronto. The area is not known for having much money, but they got Drake now & he won’t ever let his city down as long as he can help it. Drake raps, “I got a price on my head but there’s a risk to collect it.” No one can stop Drake. Not even you Meek. Drake-step-on-Meek-meme

7. Redemption: Drake asks for time to say the right words. Us as fans always hear straight bars and love songs from the rap god; however, that doesn’t mean issueless when it comes to people he cares about. Is “redemption on your mind, when you think about Drake?”

8. With You: PartyNextDoor, OVO affiliate, provides a verse and chorus asking where his girl is going (or hanging out with), because she’s the only one he wants to hang with. PND had some recent troubles with girls, but we won’t get into that.

VIEWS…P3 up next 😈

A post shared by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi) on

9. Faithful: Faithful features Pimp C and new OVO artist dvsn. This album, if you have not noticed yet, is emotional and sensitive drake (Take Care flow). He sing/raps about his affection of a girl but she’s too busy to be with him. He has to decide if he is going to move on or be patient & faithful for the girl he wants. Been there done that, right? Pimp C starts the track of tough, and dvsn straight kills it!

10. Still Here: When a Drake beat drops, you can tell when it’s going to be fire emojis. I love this song! Drake speaks about his success in the chorus, and in the middle of verse two says,” I got talk to God even though he ain’t near me, Based on what I got it’s hard to think he don’t hear me.” In the Beats 1 interview, he speaks about living in LA next to Kanye. Both of them refer to themselves as God’s of music.

kanye-drake

11. Controlla: Drake is on his smooth, Caribbean, flow on this track. The song features Jamaican artist Popcaan & was released before the album drop. It has a soothing beat, great for the beach.  Which girl is controlling Drake? Cuz Meek surely can’t.

12. One Dance: On this track, the 6ix God  is coined to be an acrobat tune, with infectious dance vibrations. Vocals come from a sampled track by Kyla (sampled here) and an additional feature is added from the Nigerian pop star Wiz Kid. Drake says, “Thats why I need a one dane.” Is this possibly referring to Rihanna’s grinding skills?

rihanna-tweks-with-drake-anti-world-tour-ftr1.jpg

13. Grammys: Whenever you see a Future feature on a Drake track, or vise versa, you know it has a chance to be a hit. Drake switches up his flow sounding like his Summer 16 song. Drake has, of course, won a grammy award and has been nominated for many past so he reflects on his musical past.

Drake-Grammy.png

14. Childs Play: If Young Metro don’t trust you, well you’re  probably dead. I really dig this song, and you will too. Metro samples “Rode Dat Dick Like a Soulja” by Dj Ray Ray. “Bounce that shit like WHOAH.” He says if your girl went to a basketball game, good chance she’s sleeping with the team; that is if she’s on Drakes level.

15. Pop Style: Pop Style is one of my personal favorites on the album. Drake has released two versions of this, one in which brings along “The Throne,” also known as Kanye and Jay-Z, as a feature and the other where he is solo (the one that made the album). The beat, as soon as it starts, will you give you goosebumps & it is backed up with a melody and flow that is insane. He boasts that he’s got so many chains that they call him Channing Tatum. Nice play on words, but you gotta respect a chain like this…

Chaining Tatum

16. Too Good: Rihanna and Drake have chemistry. If they aren’t a thing now, they can sure prove their past connection was something special on any song they team up on. This song sounds a lot like their past collaborations, but it still makes you dance around and bob your head. Are you too good for anyone? Does anyone abuse how much you love them?

17. Summers Over Interlude: “Already told you, I don’t feel the same
I don’t feel the same.” Its summer time in the Six. 7820.jpg

18. Fire and Desire: Drake talks about dedicating himself to his girl. He is down to do whatever for his girl. Cutting out exes, dropping things in his life, he sings she’s a “real ass woman and I like it.”

19. Views: Song starts out with some Gospel singing, “No, Nooo, noooo,” signaling he will never leave her. And jumps right in with one of the more creative lyrics on the album. “Yeah, you feel the pressure, man, I know the pressure & my wifey is a spice like I’m David Beckham.” Damn… Where you at Meek? All you do is scream!

4tsoerbh99teg0r24z9ex0q9x.900x900x1.jpg

20. Hotline Bling: Hopefully y’all know about this song by now. Through all the drama that Meek Mill caused with accusing Drake of having a Ghost writer, which almost ever rapper has, Drake released Hotline Bling which became one of the biggest songs of 2015. It created countless remixes, memes, & money for the rapper.

The New Red Wings Arena Name Is Ruining My Mental Well-Being

So pissed. So angry. So distraught.

Ladies and gentleman, the new Red Wings Arena name is……

Little Caesars Arena

No. No. No. No. No. What the Howe.

From Olympia Stadium, to Joe Louis Arena, to a sanctuary named after a bleeping pizza company. Yes, I know the Ilitch family owns it. Yes, I know it was started in Detroit. But the 11 time Stanley Cup Champion should not be compared to a  $5 Hot-n-ready.

Look at this new palace opening in 2017:

Red Wings

That does not scream “Pizza! Pizza!” to me. Nope.

To make matters worse, the working title for the new home was “The Baddest Bowl in Hockey.” Among the rumored names was Caesars Coliseum, Hockeytown Arena, and Gordie Howe Stadium. Any of the three would have been insanely accepted by Red Wings fans. The same cannot be said for what was ultimately chosen (paid for).

Little Caesars

Am I richer than Donald Trump?

Look, I’m a Donald guy but this a bad look. Now I’m not an extremely wealthy guy but even I have only stayed at a Holiday Inn twice. Once in 2010 in York, Pennsylvania and the other in 2012 in Racine, Wisconsin. It’s not a good look. I felt like a man going to Africa with 10 dollars, way richer than they were. Maybe it was because the frozen sausage patties I was scarfing down at the continental breakfast were sill cold or if it was because I could hear the white trash neighbors having sex.

Either way, this is no bueno Donald. You have over a billion dollars, act like it just once for me. At least take your talents to a Double Tree, smh.

Is Chris Martin (Coldplay) Dating Actress, Turned Porn Star, Graham?

Though it is just a rumor (for now), the lead singer of the band Coldplay, Chris Martin, was spotted with actress Heather Graham or was it (possibly Annabelle Wallis)? The two were portraying one of the oldest Tinder dates: a long walk on the beach. Chris recently was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow before calling it quits in 2015 and was VERY recently attached to Annabelle Wallis, so fans are very confused. So what have the two been up to? Well, Chris and Coldplay just released their album A Head Full of Dreams, BUT Heather continues to take on “skanky” acting roles. Here is just a few. The pics get progressively worst or better, however you see it.

Tuesday Primary Predictions

Republican Primary: Ted Cruz joining forces with John Kasich just proves that Cruz has accepted defeat. The Donald is definitely cracking up with his campaign staff over this sell out move by Cruz. It also shows that he is not only anti Trump but also pro establishment. No one wants John Kasich in office, if you are an anti establishment guy, which Cruz claims he is, you would do anything to prevent Kasich from getting the nomination. I think the Cruz and Kasich team up will only help Trump secure the GOP nomination.

20160126_LAUGHINGimage

Democratic Primary: Does anyone even care about this race? It is clearly over. Hillary has this thing in the bag. Bernie can win the rest of the states and Hillary would still somehow have more delegates than him. Honestly no one is taking defeat easier than Bernie. So pathetic. He’s getting screwed over by the DNC and doesn’t even care. Hillary roasts him all the time and Bernie doesn’t even care to respond. So sad. And when he does stick up for himself, which is rare, he’ll tell Hillary to “Shut up.” Then Facebook will blow up and “Bernie Sanders Dank Memes,” Facebook group will talk about how he owned Clinton. Telling her to shut up and to let you finish. Wow you’re such a tough guy, Bernie. Complete Savage.

clinton_laugh

States Prediction:

Connecticut: (D) Hillary (R) Trump

Delaware: (D) Hillary (R) Trump

Maryland: (D) Hillary (R) Trump

Pennsylvania: (D) Hillary (R) Trump

Rhode Island: (D) Bernie (R) Trump

Hillary wins 4/5. Yuuggee sweep for Trump.

Coming this November: MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN v. I’M WITH HER.

Chaos in Detroit

Tyler Collins with the hardo move of the day. Collins went to catch an easy pop up against Oakland and made an error. The Detroit fans booed him after the error in which he responded by flipping off the home crowd.

Honestly in this situation I don’t know who is more of the hardo, Collins for flipping off the Detroit fans or the Detroit fans who booed him when they had a 6-0 lead late in the game. It doesn’t make any sense. It wasn’t even like that error caused a runner to come in. You had a 6 run lead. Chill out Michiganders.

No doubt Tyler Collins hates playing in Detroit. None of their players do. This is coming from a Detroit fan, I will even admit the city is not the greatest place to live in. Almost anywhere is better than Detroit.

You know the MLB is so rattled right now. They don’t even know what to do in this situation. Flipping off the opposing team’s fans is one thing but when you flip off your own fans, that’s just insane. This has to be a first.

Fox Sports Detroit is even rattled. They put out this video about how we all have Tyler Collins moments. They don’t even know if they should say Collins was in the wrong. Honestly I’m with them, if I was a member of the media, I wouldn’t even know how to respond to this situation. Confusing stuff.

There are 2 things that we can learn from this situation: Detroit fans have no faith in their bullpen. How can you boo a guy for making a measly error when you are up 6-0 late in a game? The second is Tyler Collins definitely has anger issues. I hope this isn’t the last we hear of young Tyler. Keep the middle finger high to the sky.
